Anita Sarkeesian (Canadian-American) is a feminist media critic as well as a public speaker, and Canadian. Feminist Frequency was created by Sarkeesian. The site hosts videos featuring commentary and analysis of gender representations in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian-American blogger and media critic that has received prizes for her work, is a feminist blogger. Feminist Frequency, a website to educate women about their roles in pop culture narratives It is the brainchild of Anita Sarkeesian. Additionally, she serves as the director of operations. In her efforts to dispel the myths associated with women in pop culture she also seeks to bring attention to targeted exploitation of women as well as other classes of the Internet world. Sarkeesian has a Master's degree in political and social thinking from York University. As a public speaker, she's well-known and has spoken at TEDxWomenXOXO and the United Nations Broadband Working Group. Feminist Frequency was created on the 9th of September 2009 by Sarkeesian. a University student who has been fascinated by issues related to gender and feminism since a long time. The site was created by a woman in her early 20s with a dream to develop a series of web videos that would examine gender roles in video games. However, she became the target of cyber-bullying. It was not enough to deter her. In fact, it increased her importance to being a feminist and a media critic. Sarkeesian has been awarded numerous awards for her contribution to the cause of feminism. Anita Sarkeesian was a multi-award winning media critic. She is also the creator and director of Feminist Frequency an educational non-profit organisation that studies pop culture gender representations.
