Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a mixed race British-Nigerian child, was born to the family of South London. She has a mother who is English and her father is Nigerian. She was a student at The Brit School when she was fourteen years old. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She performed in various performances on stage during her time at school, including the stage productions King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career with a film titled Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had appearances as a guest for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her first role in a film was in Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Her success resulted in her being cast as Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. She then appeared in six episodes Trexx & Flipside in the role of Ollie. In 2008, she had the opportunity to play the part of Bambi on the ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl, appearing in three and two series. Madekwe also starred as the main character on How to lose friends & alienate people and be apathetic, which premiered on Sony Pictures Entertainment 2008. Performance credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009 with The thriller The Beautiful Life. The show aired just two episodes prior to being removed from The CW. She was cast in February 2011 in the role of Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe's departure from the series was announced in May 2013. After a period of two years as a main character, she appeared as a guest in the first episode of season 3. Between 2014 and 2016, Madekwe was a star in the role of Tituba in the TV series Salem. Madekwe, her long-time companion, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. They've collaborated in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl in the past, and Goldberg has also appeared alongside Madekwe in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for a Gemini Award, is a member of the large Hamilton family. The four brothers she had were also present and included twins Todd & Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley's family, which is all sportsmen, played baseball during the summer and played hockey in winters. Ashley was never able to walk. She was a dancer. So when she was 2 and a 1/2 and a half, she joined Baby Ballet. Ashley was hooked on dance immediately. Ashley competed in ballet, tap and jazz in high divisions. The top soloist at major competitions such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more were awarded to Ashley.
